Woodheys Primary School

Together Everyone Achieves More

Attendance

Who are the Friends of Woodheys?

We are a team of parents, neighbours, governors, teaching and non-teaching staff, grandparents and friends who each year raise money to fund extra exciting projects for the school and the children. We also have fun, make friends and feel we really get a voice in the school community.

The key to our success is YOU. We always welcome and appreciate your attendance at meetings, ideas, and help.

You can choose how (and how much) you get involved.  An offer of one-off help is fine – you are not tied into a life-long commitment.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Pop along to our next meeting on Tuesday 23rd Nov 2018 at 6.00pm in the Teachers' Room where we will be coordinating our February events. If you have never attended before, come in for a cuppa and a nosey, and meet like-minded parents! There will be signposts at the school to guide you to the meeting room on the day.

Two exciting events this February:

  •   Silver Chains - Friday 2nd February
At this annual fundraiser, children bring in coppers / silver coins and e
ach class makes a chain with them on the hall floor. The class with the longest chain wins a prize! Our children are always very excited to take part and all the money raised will go towards the PTA's objective of refurbishing the school's worn out Astroturf sports pitch.

Can your child's class win the prize?
Can we beat last year's fundraising results?

Time to start gathering those coins!

  • International Food Night - Saturday 3rd February 5-7pm
Always back by popular demand, this annual event is a friendly, lively night where you will be able to sample delicious recipes cooked up by pupils' families and friends. It’s a good opportunity to get to know more families at school and the food is amazing!

In the past, families representing over 20 countries have prepared meals for this culinary extravaganza. You will be able to buy food tokens on the door and exchange them for portions of food at any of the stalls.

If anyone would like to get involved – eg can offer to cook, help on the door, or just volunteer an hour to help in whatever capacity - please email woodheyspa@outlook.com.
