Together Everyone Achieves More

Summer 2016/17

Please can we remind all parents that it is SATs month in May.

SATs Parent Workshop

What great feedback we have had from parents about our workshop! For those of you that missed it, please find the PowerPoint available for you under the parent section of our school website. Please follow the steps: Parents> Parent Support> KS1 SATs Information.

Please watch the short video below which will give you an overview of the tests. We would like to remind you that KS1 SATs are not for parents or children to worry about. This is especially true because they are a part of teacher assessment and not the only form of assessment for the end of KS1. You may use the SATs packs at home and continue with daily reading when possible. Please give your child time to rest and enjoy hobbies during the weeks of May as their health and happiness is the most important thing for us as a school.

Castle Designing and Making

What creative castles the children have made! They worked hard to design and make the castles during the last week of Summer 1. Please look at their photos below.

Spanish Day - Tuesday 27th June 2017

What a fun day the children had! They got to wear red and yellow as a way of representing the Spanish flag. The children participated in Spanish dancing, Spanish singing and Spanish art work activities.

Y2M's Class Trip to Lower Moss Wood - Thursday 6th July 2017

What an incredible day we have had! Ray inspired both children and adults with his bird song abilities, magic tricks and knowledge of the woodland. The children wowed us with their inquisitive questions and answers throughout the day. All of the adults and Ray were particularly impressed with the children's behaviour and enthusiasm. Please have a look at our photographs below to see how much fun we had; from pond dipping to den building, there was no stopping us! Well done Y2M, you have made all of us very proud :).

Summer 2 Homework

The children have impressed us greatly with their homework this half term. From nature faces to pie charts, it is clear how hard the children have worked and the time and effort they have put in. They have loved showing and sharing their work with the class and then investigating each other's pieces during our 'homework gallery' time. Well done Year 2, we are very proud.
